Application |
FAST SPECJAL W can be perfectly used for gluing mineral wool boards onto mineral bases as well as for making a reinforcing layer when insulating buildings in FAST W and FAST W-G insulation systems. |
Characteristics |
FAST SPECJAL W is a cement-polymer adhesive, frost- and water-resistant, characteristic for its improved steam-permeability and mechanical strength. It is suitable practically for any type of building base for its great elasticity and adherence. |
Preparation of the base |
The base must be even, fast and dry, without any impurities decreasing its adherence such as dust, lime, grease or remains of previous paint coats, any types of lichen, dirt. Surfaces which are absorbable or dusting need to be primed with an adequate priming coat of FAST. |

Instructions |
Pour slowly the contents of the bag into a container with clean water (from a water supply system) stirring simultaneously with a slow-running drill until an even paste consistence is reached. Leave for about 10 minutes and stir again before applying. The adhesive prepared in this way can be used up within the following 3 hours depending on the temperature and relative air humidity. When working, the adhesive should be re-stirred every approximately 30 minutes. The adhesive must be applied on boards in two stages independently of whether you are going to glue all the surface of the board or whether you make a belt around its perimeter or spots. In the first stage start with applying a very thin layer (stopping) of the adhesive onto the whole surface of the board or its perimeter and underneath the intended spots. Then, after a partial hardening, apply the proper layer of the adhesive following the places which have previously been covered with a thin coat (stopped) of the adhesive. The adhesive should cover not less than 60% of the board surface. In order to improve the adherence, after the preliminary setting of the adhesive (namely after 3 days), each board should be additionally fastened with plastic pin provided with a metal mandrel. The number of pins used must be as recommended in the insulation design and instructions, but there should be not fewer pins than 6 per 1m2. The length of the pin depends on the type of the wall (the minimum penetration of the pin in the insulated wall should be 6-8 cm, excluding plaster). Sealing the gauze is also done in two stages. First, cover its whole surface with a thin coat and then apply a proper coat with a long float. Press the gauze into the layer prepared as described above with a long float until it is completely sealed over. The thickness of the reinforcement should be from 6 to 8 mm. When working be careful about the right weather conditions, which means, avoid great insolation, rain and too much humidity. It is not allowable to apply an additional adhesive layer 1mm thick after a few days.
