 Products' info
Application
FAST NORMAL W owing to its characteristic features can be perfectly used for gluing mineral wool boards onto different bases both inside as well outside the building such as concrete, hollow brick, cement plasters, cement-lime plasters etc.
Characteristics
FAST NORMAL W adhesive is a dry mineral mixture, modified with synthetic polymers, frost- and water-resistant with the improved elasticity.
Preparation of the base
The base must be even, fast and dry, without any impurities decreasing its adherence such as dust, lime, grease or remains of previous paint coats. In order to increase the adherence and eliminate dust the base should be primed with FAST GRUNT U or FAST GRUNT G.
Instructions
Pour into a container approximately 5,5 litres of water for 25 kg of dry substance, pour in the contents of the bag stirring simultaneously until an even paste consistence is reached. Leave for about 10 minutes and stir again before applying. The adhesive prepared in this way can be used up within the following 2,5 to 3 hours. When working, the adhesive should be re-stirred every approximately 30 minutes.
The adhesive must be applied on boards in two stages independently of whether you are going to glue all the surface of the board or whether you make a belt around its perimeter or spots. In the first stage start with applying a very thin layer (stopping) of the adhesive onto the whole surface of the board or its perimeter and underneath the intended spots. Then, after a partial hardening, apply the proper layer of the adhesive following the places which have previously been covered with a thin coat (stopped) of the adhesive. The adhesive should cover not less than 60% of the board surface.
In order to improve the adherence, after the preliminary setting of the adhesive (namely after 3 days), each board should be additionally fastened with plastic pin provided with a metal mandrel. The number of pins used must be as recommended in the insulation design and instructions, but there should be not fewer pins than 6 per 1m2. The length of the pin depends on the type of the wall (the minimum penetration of the pin in the insulated wall should be 6-8cm, excluding plaster). When working be careful about the right weather conditions, which means, avoid great insolation, rain and too much humidity.
Efficiency
Gluing mineral wool boards, approximately 5kg of dry substance per 1m2
