Application
FAST SPECJAL M can be perfectly used for gluing foamed polystyrene boards onto different mineral and ceramic bases as well as for making a reinforcing layer for FAST insulation systems with application of mineral or acrylic plasters following the exact technology.
Characteristics
FAST SPECJAL M is a cement-polymer adhesive, frost- and water-resistant, steam-permeable and characteristic for its mechanical strength and great elasticity. It is suitable practically for any type of building base.
Preparation of the base
The base must be even, fast and dry, without any impurities decreasing its adherence such as dust, lime, grease or remains of previous paint coats, any types of lichen, dirt. Surfaces which are absorbable or dusting need to be primed with an adequate priming coat of FAST.
Instructions
Pour slowly the contents of the bag into a container with clean water (from a water supply system) stirring simultaneously with a slow-running drill until an even paste consistence is reached. Leave for about 10 minutes and stir again before applying. The adhesive prepared in this way can be used up within the following 3 hours depending on the temperature and relative air humidity. When working, the adhesive should be re-stirred every approximately 30 minutes.
Apply the adhesive FAST SPECJAL M onto the board edges with stripes 3 to 4cm wide and onto the remaining surfaces in 10-12 spots ( the adhesive should cover not less than 40% of the board surface). When gluing a glass fibre gauze, the adhesive should be applied onto the board as a continuous layer beginning from the top with stripes as wide as the gauze. Immediately after applying the adhesive, the gauze must be glued by pressing it into the adhesive substance with a steel float until it is completely covered (sealed into). The thickness of the reinforcing layer should be from 3 to 5mm. After the layer dries up (which is after 3-4 days), you can continue with plastering after the base prepared according to the above procedure has been primed.
It is not allowable to apply an additional adhesive layer 1mm thick after a few days.
When using acrylic paints or plasters, you have to wait at least 6 weeks after the reinforcing layer has been done.
Efficiency
Gluing foamed polystyrene boards approximately 4kg to 5 kg/m2
Preparing the reinforcing layer approximately 4kg/m2
